Community Advocate Program Services
(C.A.P.S)
Description and List of Services to be Provided:
1. Quarterly disbursement of clothing, shoes, and nonperishable food to the chronic homeless who live on the streets.
Method: Take needed items in truck or van out to various locations and disburse to those in need.
2. Clothing, shoes, blankets and household goods will be available on a daily basis for distribution.
Method: Disburse from storage facility daily between set hours of operation. Furniture requests will be submitted and given as availability permits (through our referral source)
3. Temporary and transitional housing by referral and/or placement.
Method: Give referrals as needed to clients to appropriate facilities and or placement. Ourfuture plans is to open a transitional houses.
4. Counseling:
Method: We will make referrals to outside Counseling services such as Safe Haven, Mental Health, youth at risk, and Domestic Violence Shelter, to name a few.
5. Employment opportunities – referrals for job placement.
Method: To send clients out on affirmed job sites and assist with application process (i.e.) how to fill out and how to write a resume.
6. Tokens and Vouchers
Method: Tokens and vouchers will be made available for people who secure employment, if needed, for the first 2 weeks. Also for clients we refer to other agencies.
7. Food baskets and Hot meals.
Method: Food baskets will be made up on a daily basis and given out to anyone who says that they are hungry or in need of food. Hot meals will be prepared on site and feeding hours will be set at a later date. (This could include breakfast, lunch or dinner) but may be limited to only one meal a day.
8. Personal care items.
Method: Personal care items include but are not limited to the following: deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and wash cloths. They will be distributed on an as needed basis, and upon request from client.
